Every investor will always be asking questions. These questions will mostly be targeted at others. We tend to show excessive enthusiasm in questioning others. But when it comes to questioning ourselves, we are extremely lenient and lazy.
But, at the same time, we also find a small set of investors who are harsh on themselves. They dissect their own actions, flaws, and decisions with brutal honesty. That honesty helps them redefine their investing, reinvent themselves, and refine their portfolios.
The current market is probably a good time for investors to be brutally honest with themselves and to create a whole new way forward. But that is easier said than done. Investors seem excessively stuck with recency biases clouding their objectivity. They feel that there is no urgent need to change course or create a new path for themselves.
This is a good time for investors to turn the questions inward, ask themselves what they need to do differently, and find their path to a better future in investing.
